Greenhavens Network would love to celebrate the forthcoming National Tree Week by collaging your favourite trees in the Greenhavens (Saltdean to Seaford and up to Lewes).
Please send us a picture and description of the tree and where you favourite tree is – email firstname.lastname@example.org
To get you started here is one of our Greenhavens Advisor, Steven Teale local favourites
This Crack Willow (Salix fragilis) at Bishopstone isn’t the largest of it’s kind locally, but it is showing some of the classic features of an ancient tree: significant decay, rot holes, deadwood on the ground around the tree. It’s girth at 1.5m high is 3.54m. The cattle use one of the low boughs as a scratching post (see the bare patch of ground). A lovely tree.
